At Rhee Tae Kwon Do we pride ourselves in our ability to teach and instruct children of all ages in a fun, safe and positive learning environment.

Our classes provide plenty of physical activity to promote fitness, strength, and flexibility, and are balanced with dynamic Tae Kwon Do techniques and practical self-defence to instil our Rhee Tae Kwon Do children with confidence, discipline, respect, and self-control.

For younger children, 3 to 5 years old, our Pre-Rhee classes have been designed to introduce the child to the benefits of Rhee Tae Kwon Do, develop social and life skills that will provide them with solid foundations for a lifetime of positive achievement.

Many parents have concerns over their children learning a Martial Art like Rhee Tae Kwon Do, fearing that they’ll be hurt or be encouraged to hurt other children. Sadly there may be some cases of unprofessional instructors who encourage that behaviour or who simply aren’t qualified or experienced enough to educate their students properly.  At Rhee Tae Kwon Do, we believe that most Martial Arts schools are not only run professionally but are also working hard to change this common misconception. 

Traditional Martial Arts like Rhee Tae Kwon Do have specialised curriculum for children and teens focused on Self-Defence, Self-Discipline, Anti-Bullying and Assertiveness. As a traditional Martial Art, Rhee Tae Kwon Do has a strict non-competition policy and instead focuses on teaching its students character development and living a balanced life. Our instructors aim at having children reach their full potential physically, mentally and academically.

From the ages of 3 to 5 years, we accept children into our Pre-Rhee classes. These classes are designed to encourage physical activity, social interaction, coordination, balance and development of sensory motor skills. From 5 years onwards, children can join our regular training classes.

No, martial arts training does not encourage violence. Rhee Tae Kwon Do training promotes discipline, respect, and self-control, and is designed to improve physical and mental well-being.

As stated in its student Pledge, Rhee Tae Kwon Do emphasizes the importance of putting the Art into use only for self-defence and the defence of the weak and to never show off the knowledge of the Art, and to constantly endeavour to improve oneself, both mentally and physically the study of the Art of Rhee Tae Kwon Do.

Moreover, Tae Kwon Do training is beneficial in building self-confidence, integrity, and honour within a student.  These traits engender a strong sense of justice, compassion, humility and resolve in the practitioner.

We encourage members to train consistently at their home training centre and try to add extra training sessions depending on their age, and their level within the Rhee Tae Kwon Do organisation. However, once per week would be the absolute minimum to maintain standard.

Absolutely! At Rhee Tae Kwon Do, you join at one centre and train at ALL centres! We have training centres across Australia and most of our training centres are close to one another, allowing you to train up to 6 days a week if you so choose. This comes at no additional cost and is part of your standard monthly fee. Having training centres all over Australia allows you to keep training if you move to another state or simply find yourself in a different suburb or region.

No. We are a traditional Tae Kwon Do School. We teach the art of combat and self-defence. We train to deal with real-world situations and to defend ourselves effectively against real assailants. By following this traditional path, our students gain confidence, discipline, and learn the true meaning of indomitable spirit.

To quote World Master Chong Chul Rhee, “Martial Art is quite different from sport. In addition to all the benefits gained from sport, Martial Art training also offers a complete philosophy and way of life, and if the martial artist needs to defend himself, he is able to do so very effectively.”

Yes. All our training is conducted by dedicated, experienced and knowledgeable, mature aged professional Black Belt Instructors with years and decades of training and instructing experience.

All Rhee Tae Kwon-Do Instructors are certified and officially appointed by the organisation and World Master Chong Chul Rhee. Our Professional Instructors are highly skilled martial artists, specially selected with great consideration and are carefully trained to bring out the best in their students.

Each Rhee Tae Kwon-Do Instructor demonstrates great care, understanding, and fortitude to support their students’ development in pursuit of the Art.

Outside of Rhee Tae Kwon Do, our instructors are full-time professionals and role models in the community. We teach Rhee Tae Kwon Do to share its benefits with the community, not as a source of income or profit.

All our Rhee Tae Kwon Do instructors have completed First Aid Training and hold a “Working with Children Check”  police clearance.
